A key guideline for Óbuda University and its collaborating partners is to carry out scientific innovation activities and research and development in the future that will result in modern and effective cyber protection of digital devices in the digital space, stated Rector Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács at the meeting where he welcomed the Defense Innovation Research Institute Nonprofit Zrt. and the Zsámbéki Scientific and Innovation Park Nonprofit Kft. as members of the Hungarian Cybersecurity Cluster.
In order to increase awareness and knowledge about cybersecurity, the cluster members pay special attention to cooperation with domestic and international organizations, to quality, practical training, so that this professional association can delegate highly qualified students to the labor market. The Cluster's objectives include increasing the national cyber defense capability by serving the domestic and international corporate sector with cyber defense technology, and to play a decisive role in Europe - explained Dr. György Eigner, the professional leader of the Zsámbék project, Dean of the Neumann János Faculty of Informatics.
The management of Óbuda University founded the Hungarian Cybersecurity Cluster over a year ago, with the Future Industry Science and Innovation Park being built in Zsámbék and the university providing the framework and also coordinating the organization. The Rudolf Kalman Óbuda University Foundation, Óbuda University and the Zsámbék Municipality have set a goal of establishing a thematic innovation and research center where, in addition to research and development, service provision and manufacturing activities, the practical part of education can be given greater prominence. During the university research and development in Zsámbék, innovations are being experimented with and created with future industry technologies such as cybersecurity, 5G/6G, artificial intelligence, AR/VR, medical technology and robotics. One of the priority research areas of the Zsámbék park will be the topic of cybersecurity. Within this framework, the consortium and the members of the Hungarian Cybersecurity Cluster would like to implement a professional collaboration that will be able to effectively handle the information security challenges arising in the life of the park, connecting new technologies with the companies joining in. They intend to utilize their professional experience and results for the development of the cybersecurity field serving the domestic society, on the international market, and in a profit-oriented manner.
