The industrial utilization of university research and development is one of the pillars of domestic competitiveness, he emphasized. Prof. Dr. Levente Kovacs. As he put it: Óbuda University is one of the leading workshops for medical technology developments and health industry innovations in Hungary. The establishment of the center of excellence can effectively promote the expansion of relations, innovation, and joint domestic and international opportunities of Hungarian and Central and Eastern European medtech organizations and companies. The location of the cooperation will be the Zsámbék Science and Innovation Park – the rector drew attention, mentioning that the first joint Department of Medical Technology Industry in Hungary was founded with Medicor Zrt and the Mediklaszter two years ago at Óbuda University.

According to the document just signed, a key goal is to coordinate the cooperation between MediKlaszter, Medicor, Óbuda University and the Zsámbék Science and Innovation Park, as well as to designate an innovative medical technology development direction that they intend to achieve through the provision and coordinated development of research, services and industry-related educational and training activities. One of the main directions of the strategic cooperation is the implementation of a Central European Medical Technology Innovation Excellence Center in Zsámbék, which will contribute to the creation of an internationally competitive medical technology innovation ecosystem. The implementation will have a positive impact on the dynamics of the health industry of the country, the region and the EU, and will promote technology transfer activities based on university knowledge, and the organization of industry clusters at both national and international levels. The planned focus areas of the center of excellence will include strengthening Hungary's medical technology and defense industry, emergency equipment development, and the development of the unique Hungarian mass ventilation system, the MASSVENTIL project.

The strategic cooperation between Óbuda University, the Zsámbék Science and Innovation Park, a leading medical technology industry enterprise, and the cluster creates a foundation for promoting innovation, economic growth and sustainable development, as well as strengthening regional and international competitiveness.
