Óbuda University is developing a Science and Technology Park in Zsámbék

The acceptance of long-term financing for Óbuda University will enable new developments that will lay the foundation for the future to be launched within the institution. The university is developing science and innovation parks in Székesfehérvár, Kaposvár and Zsámbék. The cooperation agreement on the investment in Zsámbék was signed by Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, the rector of the university, and László Horváth, the mayor of the Pest county settlement, on November 9. Zsámbék's development plans and Óbuda University's vision for the Science and Innovation Park coincide in many respects. The investment will be implemented in an open and self-sustaining industrial innovation ecosystem and will operate as a service-oriented digital hub. The designated real estate development area will also include scientific and research incubation centers, business services, technological manufacturing and prototyping, educational and training facilities, and discovery center showrooms. The aim of the contract signed today is to create competitive, new products and services and to make efficient use of EU funds. Another objective is to make the science park not only a centre of innovation for the creative technologies of the future, but also to showcase technological innovations to visitors, he stressed. Prof. Dr. Levente Kovacs highlighting that the facility will represent Hungarian creativity and innovation in one place, while also providing an opportunity to see and try all of this. The investment in Zsámbék will enable research, development and innovation cooperation that can involve the industrial partners of the town and the region in the university's scientific lifeblood, he stated Laszlo Horvath. Óbuda University has launched the development of Three Science and Technology Parks, which is a unique development series in Hungarian higher education and far exceeds the expectations of a science university. In addition to the development in Zsámbék, in the coming period there will be an opportunity to develop a Mechatronics Science and Technology Park in Székesfehérvár, and an Intelligent Industry Science Park may be established in Kaposvár. University science and innovation parks, as well as technology parks organized on a market basis, will be determining elements of the knowledge-based economy of the future as strategic sectors.
